Long Term Planned Giving
Many people don't realize the important benefits they can obtain by planning their estates and finances in cooperation with a nonprofit establishment. Proper planning could direct your resources to worthwhile non-profit organizations instead of to the IRS. The United Way for Cortland County is in a position to accept gifts of any nature. During the last few years we have received gifts of property, stocks, insurance, and similar equity items. Donating appreciated stocks is easy and beneficial to all involved. Annuities and bequests save on estate taxes.
We highly recommend that you discuss any planned giving with your lawyer and/or financial advisor.
