2020-2021 Request for Proposal (RFP)
United Way for Cortland County
Who is eligible?
Registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations operating in
Cortland County whose work aligns with United Way’s impact
areas of Family Support, Health, and Income.
Funding guidelines:
-
Grants are awarded for a period of one year; allocations
are distributed monthly
-
For 2020/21 awards, the minimum grant request is $2,500
and the maximum amount awarded will be $40,000 per
program proposal
-
A separate application is required for each program for which
you are requesting funding
-
Grant awards are subject to funding availability
Grant application timeline:

March 4 – Grant applications open
-
April 21 at 12:00 noon–Applications due
late applications will not be considered

April 27 to May 22 – Application review
-
June 9 – Funding recommendations presented to Board of Directors
-
June 19 – Grant award announcements
-
July 1 – First distribution of awarded grant allocations

The mission of the United Way for Cortland County (UWCC) is to improve the lives of families in our community by uniting the resources of donors, volunteers and agencies. UWCC seeks to achieve its mission in Cortland County by:

Supporting programs and agencies that have sound fiscal and management practices

Fostering efforts that build collaboration and partnerships

Addressing the root causes of problems that challenge our community

Leveraging community resources beyond the annual campaign
Based on data from the United Way ALICE study, Seven Valleys Health Coalition’s Cortland Counts community needs assessment, and input from the UWCC Board of Directors and Community Impact Task Force, the United Way for Cortland County has consolidated its funding priorities to the following community impact priority areas:
