Join us for our FALL Day of Caring

Friday, October 17, 2025

9am-5pm

This season, we are thrilled to be partnering with the

Cortland Community Learning Garden!

Our Garden Project will focus on at least two major activities:

Completing an accessibility path so everyone can enjoy the garden.

A garden beautification day to get the space ready for next spring.

The garden is located at 27 South Avenue, Cortland.

*This event will also be the final collection day for our Pasta and Sauce Food Drive. We're asking the community to bring non-perishable pasta and jarred or canned sauce to the event to help stock local food pantries.

If you're participating in the food drive, please collect items at your location between September 17th and October 17th. On the Day of Caring, bring all collected donations to the Cortland Community Learning Garden. We'll sort and process the food for distribution to local food pantries. We're looking forward to working with you to make a difference in our community!

UWCC is proud to announce it's inaugural SPRING Day of Caring 10am-5pm on Thursday April 3rd! We invite you to sign up to participate in a great collaborative community event by being a food drive location and/or volunteering for the YMCA Cortland Agency Cleanup.

The United Way is organizing the Food Drive collection locations and the April 3rd clean up teams at the YMCA via the first form below. The agency cleanup will provide a chance for the community to rally behind the YMCA to give them a spring refresh through gardening activities, playground rubber floor distribution, painting, and playroom cleaning.

The Food Bank of Central NY is organizing volunteers for food drive processing at the YMCA all day on April 3rd via the second form below.

Food drive participants are invited to collect items at their individual locations the month of March, bring items to the YMCA on April 3rd to be sorted, and have items processed for distribution among the Cortland County area food pantries with the assistance of our Food Bank partner and volunteers.

We are excited to have you join us!
